Humble Beginnings

Who is Cristina?

Cristina Decena is a self-made woman who is currently the president of the CBC Group of Companies. Among its subsidiaries are the Muebles De Cristina, CBC Foundation, C. Castillo Realty & Dev’t. Corp., Signatures By Cristina, Cherdan Lending & Investment Corp., AVP Productions, CBC Meatshop, and the Phil. Asian Lending Group, Inc. Her tale is the classic rags-to-riches one, which Filipinos love to fictionalize in movies and telenovelas. However, these works of fiction do not even scratch the surface of the hardships and tribulations that Ms. Castillo had to go through to get to where she is now.

“Hindi hadlang ang kahirapan sa magandang buhay na gusto mong makuha. Kailangan ng sikap, tiyaga at laging sasamahan ng dasal.”

– Cristina Decena

  • I appreciate and admire all of Cristina Decena’s projects. I have been a witness to many of these projects. And many of these projects have been worthy of coverage and many of these stories have actually come out on my ABS-CBN Channel 2 program, Rated K.

CBC Foundation

“It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.”

Initiated in 2004, CBC Foundation is a non-profit organization for the underprivileged youth. It was initially established to give medical care to persons with incapacities such as harelip. On its early years, CBC Foundation, in cooperation with Operation Smile, started with a manifold of charitable activities such as surgical missions and dental missions for young children. At present, CBC Foundation has expanded and currently supports the children of Valencia Elementary School (Grades 1-4) and 5 villas of elderly at Golden Acres.
